Hi! We're the Techno Chix, FTC robotics team 18 from Pleasantville, New York. We are a small group of high school girls from all over Westchester and Orange County who love FIRST. The team has competed continuously since 2005 and is affiliated with Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson.

We are always happy to help so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us!

We are very sad to announce that we did not advance to the Scranton Super Regionals this past weekend. We would like to send our love and support to all of our friends who continue on!! Thank you for following our journey this year!

The Chix competed at Red Hook High School on Sunday, December 17, 2017. It was an eggcelent first competition, we had the chance to see old friends and meet new friends. Our robot, Idaho Jones (because it's like Indiana Jones but not), ran well. It was definitely worth it to be working for twenty one hours over the past two days. Fluff fluff fluff fluff fluff. More fluffing fluff fluff fluff fluff. Anyway... To our surprise, we entered the semifinals as fourth ranked alliance captains and made it to the finals. We ended up placing second overall!

Huge shout out to our other half, Bond Bots (team #8527) for the amazing experience! It turned out to be the perfect partnership!

Thank you so much to the RoboRaiders (team #6567) for...

Last Saturday was one of our annual events, Girl Fest, hosted by Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson. We couldn't be happier with the turn out! We saw over 500 beautiful faces of young Girl Scouts who share a common interest of ours, science...

At Girl Fest, we exhibited four different activities for the girls to explore.

1. Morse Code: (Binary code and the beginnings of programming) The girls learned what morse code is and how it is written. They wrote their names and spelled them out on a closed circuit light bulb.

2. Lava Lamps: (Densities of liquids) Using colored water, vegetable oil, and alka-seltzer tablets, the girls put together test tube lava lamps and when placed over a light, they're pretty darn cool.

3. Catapults...

Next Sunday, October 1, the Techno Chix will be hosting the annual Cookie Bowl workshop, build, and practice. The Cookie Bowl will begin at 12 sharp (but you can drop by anytime (except after 5, cause it's over then) and leave whenever). The full Relic Recovery Field will be available for use, as well as an assortment of power tools and 3-D printers (graciously supplied by Hudson Valley FIRST). Teams will be able to borrow a glyph for practice.

If you don't have your parts or kit yet, we can help you get started by loaning a couple parts or get a design started so you're ready when your parts arrive.

The flock got back together! Sunday, we exhibited at the Space & Science Festival at the Intrepid Museum with our newest demo robot, Fred. While we were a few Chix short, we were also happy to welcome new Chix. We met other awesome robotics teams and got a chance to see FRC robots in action. On behalf of the team, I think I can say everyone had a great day with all the outreach, robots, and science at the festival!
